CSS Pixels

Several weeks ago I made this presentation for work after doing a bit of research and becoming interested in how pixels on our screens are actually calculated.  It’s not at all what I expected at first, but find out for yourself and check out the presentation below.

(Apologies for the audio not syncing up with the sides.  I’ve set it to do so, but SlideShare seems to refuse to work with me here)

Liza & Her Bike

My friend and coworker Liza recently completed a half-IronMan (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run – WOW) and she wanted some photos to commemorate her training before the event. One evening we went out to the Fort Pickens area and tried out a few ideas that we both had. Overall it was a pretty dark and overcast day when I was hoping for some gorgeous sunset shots. It was also super windy, which made her hair a challenge to get right for shots. At the end we left fairly disappointed, thinking we didn’t really get many of the shots we had in mind.

When I got home, imported, and removed the bad photos things were starting to look better. I actually had more than a few shots I was happy with! A small sampling of what was captured that day is below.
